Fees and Compensation

What is the fee?

If we manage to secure you compensation from the airline we will charge you a fee of 36% (Inclusive of VAT). If your claim is unsuccessful we will cover our own processing costs and you will not be charged.

Therefore, there is no financial risk to you in seeing if you have a claim!

How much will I get if my claim is successful?

The amount of compensation that you are entitled to varies depending on the distance of your journey and how long the delay lasted. The cost of your plane ticket is not taken into consideration by the airline when awarding compensation. See below for a flight delay compensation breakdown;

Distance (Point to Point) Length of Delay Compensation per passenger
Less than 1,500 Km 3+ Hours €250
1,500 Km – 3,500 Km 3+ Hours €400
Over 3,500 Km 3-4 Hours €300
Over 3,500 Km 4+ Hours €600

The Claims Process

How do I know if I am eligible to make a claim?

In order for airFair to take on your potential claim, your claim must hit the following two claim criteria points;

  • Delay must have been for 3+ hours.
  • The flight must have either been from an EU Airport or on an EU Airline.

What do I do if the airline contacts me?

If the airline tries to make contact with you throughout the claims process, you should notify us as the airline may try to negotiate a smaller settlement amount than you are entitled to.

How long will my claim take?

Each claim is different, but we keep the pressure on the airline from the moment that we submit your claim to the moment that they make their final decision. We have had some cases turn around in a matter of days, but others can go on for a few months. We will keep you updated at every step of your case so you know what is going on throughout the process.

How do I start my claim?

We have a very simple process, designed with you in mind.

Simply fill in your details online, sign electronically to agree to our Ts and Cs and consent for us to act on your behalf, then sit back and let us do the rest.

Where can I find my flight booking reference number?

The booking reference number will be on your flight confirmation, which will have either been emailed to you or appear on any documents you have from the airline regarding your trip. (The code will be 6 digits long and will contain letters and numbers).
